You do not have to learn on whatever car happens to be free. We teach on small manual cars, automatics, and two wheels — and which one you learn on is your choice, agreed at admission.

The car most of our learners start on. Small, light, easy to place on a narrow road and forgiving of a clumsy clutch. If you learn on an Alto you can drive almost anything else on these roads.
Suits: Beginners, licence applicants, anyone who wants to drive a manual
The same small, manageable car without the clutch and gears. Removes the single thing beginners struggle with most, so you spend your attention on steering, road position and traffic instead.
Suits: Nervous beginners, and anyone who will drive an automatic
A step up in size and comfort while still being easy to handle. Useful once the basics are solid and you want to feel a slightly larger car before driving the family one.
Suits: Learners past the basics, 15 and 30 day courses
Roomier again, and the closest of our cars to what many families actually own. Used in the later part of the full course, when you are driving in real traffic and want the car to stop being the hard part.
Suits: The 30 day course, and refresher learners
For women who want two wheels rather than four. No gears, light enough to handle at walking pace, and the quickest route to independent local travel.
Suits: Two-wheeler learners, short course
Gears, clutch and balance on two wheels. Taught from the ground up: control at low speed first, then turning, braking and traffic.
Suits: Two-wheeler learners who want a geared bike
Car images above show the models we teach on. Vehicle availability varies by day and by city. The training cars are fitted with dual controls, so your instructor has her own brake and clutch.
Learn on a manual if the car at home is a manual, or if you want to be able to drive anything. The clutch takes a few days longer to master, and once it is automatic in your hands it never leaves.
Learn on an automatic if the car you will actually drive is automatic, or if the clutch is the part that worries you. Removing gears from the first week frees your attention for steering, road position and traffic — which is where the real driving happens.
Neither choice is the serious one and the other the easy one. The right car is the one you will be driving after the course ends.
Alto manual, scooty or motorcycle
Alto manual, Alto automatic, Passo
All four cars, manual and automatic
Both. The Suzuki Alto is available as a manual and as an automatic, and the Passo and Vitz are automatic. Tell us which you want when you enrol.
The Alto, manual or automatic. It is small, light and easy to position on narrow roads, which makes the first week far less daunting.
Yes, both, for women who want two wheels rather than a car. This is usually taken as the 7 day course.
On the 15 and 30 day courses, yes. Learners on the full course commonly spend time on both a manual and an automatic.
Every lesson is taught with a female instructor beside you, who can take over the controls if needed. The training cars are fitted with dual controls, so your instructor has her own brake and clutch.
The course fee covers your lessons and free pick and drop from home. Fuel is included in the course fee — there is nothing extra to pay per lesson.
